What's different about Rowpip

Rowpip is the app we make, so read this part with that in mind.

Auto-count Experimental

On the watch, Rowpip can try to keep count for you: you knit one row while the watch learns your rhythm, and after that it counts your stitches and moves on to the next row. We haven't found another app that counts rows from wrist motion (as of October 2026). It's experimental: it may work well for some ways of knitting and badly for others, and counting by hand always works.

What My Row Counter does that Rowpip doesn't

My Row Counter imports patterns from the web, PDF, Dropbox, Google Drive and Word, and has a Ravelry library and search. It keeps multiple counters with row reminders, takes voice control and has a chart creator, and PDF annotation comes with Premium. It also runs on Garmin and Fitbit watches.

Rowpip has none of that. It keeps one project at a time, with no pattern library and no notes, so if your patterns live inside your counter app, Rowpip won't replace it.
